Career Day Volunteers and Contributions Needed | Thursday, May 29, 2025

SRMS needs your help! The Student Career Fair is coming up on May 29 at Severn River Middle School. Professionals from diverse industries are volunteering their time so SRMS students can explore potential career paths. We need parents and/or volunteers to present and explain the duties of their careers to our students. Presentations begin at 9:15 AM and should be over by 11:15 AM.

The presentations should last only 30 minutes and be presented at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels, with the interest levels and comprehension abilities of this age kept in mind. There will be 3 rotations of your presentation in a total of about two hours! There will need to be visuals to help students understand what your career involves such as posters, tactile objects, a PowerPoint, or Google Slides, etc. It would also be great if you could provide some type of token such as stickers, pens, badges, pamphlets, or any tangible object that students may take with them, but this is not necessary.

If you will help us by presenting or providing a speaker, please complete the Google form so that this special day may be reserved for a fun-filled day of instruction! Thank you for your consideration.

Ms Wilson, the organizer, would like to set up a Hospitality Area with light refreshments, such as finger foods, fruit, and drinks, and is looking for help.
